I am noting that there are others out there who share my frustration in the inability to install AIR applications and seek a solution (if there is one). AIR installs fine as one would expect but I tell you what, there is not one AIR application that will install on my machine, I get the following error:

Sorry, an error has occured The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author

The problem seems to be as far as I am aware on Mac OS X (hmmmm starting to have bad memory’s of ColdFusion installations now many moons ago), I am using mac os x Version 10.5.2 on a mac 2 x 2,8ghz quad core intel xeon and there is a link below of a guy with EXACTLY the same error as me on a mac also?

On reporting to the AIR forums, Adobe advised me to implement the installation log which I did and on attempted installations of 2 common AIR applications, Twhirl and AMP I outputted the following in the log file:

Has anyone any idea what the heck is going on here, the Adobe team are investigating and have no current solution as yet, so I am wondering if anyone out there in the community has had similar problems? Who knows what this error means?
